The Building Awards 2015, the industry’s longest running and most prestigious recognition of excellence. Showcasing the best in all areas of construction, from individual projects to training and outstanding individuals, 21 awards will be going to the best and most innovative of 2014.
On the night, Asite sponsored both the Champagne reception (in the Ballroom of the Grosvenor Hotel London) and the BIM initiative of the year 2014. This was a hotly contested category with major global firms competing for the BIM initiative award. Companies included; Laing O’Rourke, AECOM, Mace, BIM Academy, ARUP, NBS and Turner and Townsend. In true Building Awards tradition the Celebrity guest host remained top secret until David Walliams appeared on stage. The English comedian/author, known for his risqué behaviour was the perfect compère for the evenings awards.
Asite’s CEO Tony Ryan presented the BIM initiative award with his usual flair and hilarity; eager not to be upstaged Tony greeted David Walliams with a friendly kiss! The winners with BIM – Now its personal; were Laing O’Rourke. Delighted with the win the full team stormed the stage to collect the award. The event organised by UBM, highlighted the growth and success of the construction sector, with an audience filled main contractors, consultancies and figure heads of the AEC industry.
