As a leading provider of collaboration solutions for the construction industry, Asite recognises its duty to help the construction industry promote collaborative working and integrated supply chains. The idea of a smarter supply chain must be embedded from initial training to ensure construction graduates know the importance of collaborative working and integrating supply chains.
Asite is now providing its fully featured collaboration tool Asite Project Workflow to Loughborough University for learning purposes. Using Asite Project Workflow will help students understand the benefits of using collaboration solutions and just how easy to use collaboration tools can be.
On the 8th of May 2008 Asite presented a two hour lecture to the MSc Construction Management and the MEng Civil Engineering programmes about the role of collaborative technology in facilitating a sustainable built environment. Nathan Doughty, Asite COO, shared his rich knowledge and experience of the challenges faced by the construction industry in developing an integrated supply chain. After a quick presentation of the key ideas developed by Sir John Egan in his Rethinking Construction report, Nathan described how SMBs can overcome the barriers to collaboration and the role of Building Information Modelling technology in helping project managers to deliver smarter buildings.
